Wrinkles

Wrinkles are a common sign of aging, appearing as lines and folds in the skin. They typically develop due to a combination of reduced collagen and elastin production, repeated facial expressions, and environmental factors such as sun exposure and pollution. Wrinkles are most noticeable on sun-exposed areas, including the face, neck, and hands.

Volume Loss

As we age, the natural volume in our face decreases, leading to a hollowed, sunken appearance. This is primarily due to the loss of fat, bone density, and the thinning of skin layers. Volume loss can result in a less youthful look and contribute to the formation of deeper lines and sagging skin.

Sagging

Sagging skin occurs as a result of the natural aging process, where the skin loses its firmness and elasticity. This can be due to the breakdown of collagen and elastin, as well as the effects of gravity over time. Sagging commonly affects areas such as the cheeks, jawline, and neck, contributing to a more aged appearance.

Understanding these common concerns can help you recognise the signs of aging and the factors contributing to them. For more information or to discuss your individual needs, please book a consultation. We're here to help you achieve a more youthful and confident appearance.

Skin Quality

Aging affects the overall quality of the skin, making it thinner, less elastic, and more prone to damage. Factors such as sun exposure, pollution, and lifestyle choices can accelerate these changes. Common issues include dryness, uneven texture, and reduced radiance.

Definition

Facial definition refers to the clarity and sharpness of the facial contours. With age, the loss of fat and bone density, along with decreased skin elasticity, can cause the facial features to appear less defined. This can affect areas such as the jawline, cheeks, and temples, leading to a softer, less sculpted appearance. Additionally, some individuals may lack definition genetically, such as having a recessed chin or less prominent cheekbones, which can affect the overall harmony of their facial features.
